The location of the light is at the southern tip of the Baccaro Peninsula. The nearest city is Barrington, NS. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1934.

The lighthouse is a square pyramidal.

The tower has white a focal plane height of 49 ft above mean high water. The light has a nominal range of 15 nautical miles. The tower height is 46 ft. The light has a period of 10 seconds.

On January 16, 1934, the Baccaro Point Lighthouse was destroyed by fire. Later that year the current tower was built.
