The location of the light is west of Braddock Bay at Bogus Point on Lake Ontario. The nearest city is Hilton, NY. The station was first established in 1896. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1896. The light has a nominal range of 15 nautical miles. The light has a period of 6 seconds.

The Coast Guard reactivated the light on February 28, 1999. The lighthouse and dwelling are now privately owned and have opened as a Bed and Breakfast. Overnight stays are available seasonally.
