The location of the light is western tip of Burrows Island. The nearest city is Anacortes, WA. The station was first established in 1906. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1906.

The lighthouse is a white octagonal cupola with red roof on a building.

The tower has a flashing white light at a focal plane height of 57 ft above mean high water. The light has a nominal range of 9 nautical miles. The tower height is 34 ft. The light has a period of 6 seconds.

HORN: 2 blasts ev 30s (2s bl-2s si-2s bl-24s si). HORN is activated by keying the mic 5 times on VHF-FM Channel 83A (157.175 MHz). HORN will operate for 30 minutes.

A 'flashing' light is a light in which the total duration of light in a period is shorter than the total duration of darkness and the appearances of light (flashes) are usually of equal duration. So in the 6 second period, the light is on for less than 3 then off for more than 3.
