The location of the light is San Juan Island in San Juan Channel. The nearest city is Friday Harbor, WA. The station was first established in 1888. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1935.

The lighthouse is a white octagonal tower.

The tower had a flashing white light at a focal plane height of 94 ft above mean high water. The light had a nominal range of 7 nautical miles. The tower height is 34 ft. The light had a period of 4 seconds.
