The location of the light is Bullard's Beach State Park / Coquille River entrance. The nearest city is Bandon, OR. The station was first established in 1896. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1896.

The tower had a flashing white light at a focal plane height of 47 ft above mean high water. The light had a nominal range of 12 nautical miles. The tower height is 40 ft.
