The location of the light is 26 miles up the Delaware Bay from Cape May and 5 miles offshore from Fortescue.. The nearest city is Fortescue, NJ. The station was first established in 1910. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1910.

The lighthouse is a red skeleton tower with small white house.
