The location of the light is at the southern tip of White Head Island. The nearest city is Grand Manan, NB. The station was first established in 1929. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1966.

The lighthouse is a cement structure with a square tower rising from one of its corners. The light has a period of 12 seconds.
