The location of the light is near the eastern tip of Long Point National Wildlife Area. The nearest city is Norfolk, ON. The station was first established in 1830. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1916.

The lighthouse is a white octagonal pyramidal tower with a red lantern room.

The tower has a flashing white light at a focal plane height of 97 ft above mean high water. The light has a nominal range of 25 nautical miles. The light has a period of 8 seconds.
