The location of the light is the western tip of Main Duck Island. The nearest city is South Bay, ON. The station was first established in 1914.

The lighthouse is a white tapered octagonal tower with red upper portion.

The tower has a flashing white light at a focal plane height of 77 ft above mean high water. The light has a nominal range of 20 nautical miles. The tower height is 80 ft. The light has a period of 6 seconds.
