The location of the light is at the end of a breakwater extending south from Presque Isle Park. The nearest city is Presque Isle, MI. The station was first established in 1941. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1941.

The lighthouse is a white cylindrical tower with a red band.

The tower has a flashing red light at a focal plane height of 56 ft above mean high water. The light has a nominal range of 12 nautical miles. The tower height is 56 ft. The light has a period of 4 seconds.
