The location of the light is West Quoddy State Park, at the easternmost point in the US. The nearest city is Lubec, ME. The station was first established in 1808. The current lighthouse was first lit in 1858.

The lighthouse is a conical tower with red and white bands.

The tower has a light at a focal plane height of 83 ft above mean high water. The light has a nominal range of 18 nautical miles. The tower height is 49 ft.
